Affiliate Disclosure

Last updated: 5 April 2026

What This Means

Plug Solar Hub participates in affiliate programmes, which means some links to products or services on this site are affiliate links. If you click one of these links and make a purchase, we may receive a small commission from the retailer or manufacturer - at no additional cost to you.

Why We Do This

Running this site - writing guides, building the calculator, researching products - takes time and effort. Affiliate commissions help us keep Plug Solar Hub free and independent. We are not paid to write positive reviews, and our editorial opinions are never influenced by affiliate relationships.

Our Promise to You

We only link to products and services we have researched and believe are genuinely useful for UK households looking to adopt plug-in solar. We will always tell you when a link is an affiliate link where practical. We have never tested a product and we do not claim to have. What we do is read prices at the seller and date them.

What we will take, and what we will not

We will take public affiliate programmes. Awin and Amazon are open to anyone, we negotiate with nobody to join them, and membership creates no relationship with a brand and no obligation to write anything in particular. Where a link earns us a commission, we say so on the page.

We will not take a bespoke arrangement with any seller of a compliant kit. No negotiated commission, no reader discount codes, no paid placement, no gifted product, nothing agreed brand to brand. In September we turned down a manufacturer already on the register who offered £30 for every redemption plus a £20 code for our readers, and we would turn the same offer down tomorrow. A public programme anyone can join is a different thing from a deal done with one company, because the second creates an expectation and the first does not.

Two pages carry no commercial links at all. The approved kit register and the price index are the measures this site is judged on. There are no affiliate links on either, there never will be, and no kit earns its place on either by paying us. If you trust one thing here, trust those two pages, and hold us to it.

This is a change of position and we would rather you heard it from us than noticed it yourself. If you think the line is in the wrong place, write to [email protected] and we will publish the argument.

Which Programmes We Use

We may participate in affiliate programmes run by Amazon UK, Awin, and direct manufacturer or retailer programmes. This list may change as the site grows.

Compliance

This disclosure is made in accordance with the UK ASA/CAP Code on advertising transparency and the FTC's guidelines on endorsements and testimonials.
