Three different jobs, three different products. A battery that bolts onto your existing 800W microinverter is not the same product as a portable LFP power station you charge from a folding panel on the balcony. Both are legitimate, but mixing them up wastes money. I have organised this page by the job, not by the brand. Pick the category first, then the spec.
1. Kit-integrated battery (panels + microinverter + battery in one box)
If you are buying from scratch and want a single SKU that does everything, this category is the cleanest path. EcoFlow currently leads UK kit-integrated. Stack-up to 11.52 kWh, smart-tariff scheduling built in, one app.
EcoFlow
STREAM Pro 1.92 kWh
The de-facto UK kit-integrated balcony battery. Two 400W rigid panels, 800W microinverter, 1.92 kWh LFP, 1200W AC output. Expandable to 11.52 kWh. AI time-of-use scheduling for Octopus Go or Cosy.

EcoFlow
STREAM Ultra 1.92 kWh (4-panel)
Four 400W panels with the same 1.92 kWh battery. Worth it if you have the surface area; the larger array shifts more energy into the battery on a typical UK summer day. 4 MPPT, 2.8kW solar input.

EcoFlow
STREAM Ultra X 3.84 kWh
Top of the EcoFlow balcony range. 3.84 kWh LFP, 1600W microinverter, four 400W panels, expandable to 23 kWh. Buy this if you are confident in the location, have meaningful daytime base load, and want the kit to age well.

2. Standalone add-on battery (works with any microinverter)
You already own a panel-only kit (EcoFlow STREAM 800W, or a Hoymiles plus panels combo) and want to add storage later. One product currently fits this brief in the UK consumer channel.
EcoFlow
STREAM AC Pro 1.92 kWh (battery only)
1.92 kWh LFP battery designed to bolt onto any 800W microinverter on the UK G98 register. 1200W AC output, expandable to 11.52 kWh. The retrofit path. Pair with a Hoymiles HMS-800W-2T plus two panels for around £750 to £900 of separate components, then add this on later.

3. Portable power stations (charged from a folding panel or wall socket)
A different product class. Portable LFP power stations are not connected to your microinverter or to the grid as a generator. You charge them either from a 12V to 48V solar panel via DC (no G98 needed) or from a wall socket on a cheap overnight tariff, then run appliances directly from the battery. Best for: renters who move often, off-grid corner of a flat, garden offices, camping, power-cut insurance.
EcoFlow

How to choose between the three categories
- Buying from scratch, staying in one place for 3+ years: kit-integrated. STREAM Pro for most flats, Ultra X if you have the panels and the base load.
- You already own a panel-only 800W kit (or are planning a Hoymiles + 2 panels build): STREAM AC Pro standalone bolts onto whatever microinverter you have.
- Renting, moving in the next 18 months, or want an off-grid corner: portable power station, sized by your daytime base load. 1 kWh covers a laptop, lights, a fridge for a few hours. 2 kWh covers a whole flat for an evening.
One thing the maths makes clear. For most UK renters, the cheapest sensible entry to solar plus storage in 2026 is a panels-only 800W kit (around £499) plus a standalone STREAM AC Pro added later when budget allows (~£798). Total: around £1,300 spread over two purchases. The kit-integrated STREAM Pro is essentially the same hardware in one box for ~£979, saving roughly £300 versus the two-step path, but you commit on day one. Read the
battery payback piece before deciding.
UK warranty and support, in brief
All four brands (EcoFlow, Anker, Bluetti, Jackery) offer 5-year warranties on the LFP battery in their flagship UK lines, with 2-year warranties on the inverter and chassis. UK-side support quality varies. In my experience, EcoFlow and Anker have the fastest UK consumer response. Bluetti and Jackery both route through European service centres which lengthens turnaround. Buy from Amazon UK (rather than direct from a manufacturer micro-site) to keep the consumer-protection chain short.
What this page is not
This is a buyer's directory. It is not a route to compliance. None of these batteries change the UK installation picture: if your battery is grid-connected via a microinverter, the install still routes through a CPS-registered electrician and G98 notification to your DNO. Portable power stations charged via DC do not need G98 because they are not exporting to the grid. See BS 7671 and Plug-In Solar in the UK and the G98 Form walkthrough if you are not sure which side of the line your install sits on.
